Participants Will:
Identify barriers that impact consistent AAC device access and staff implementation across school environments.
Participants Will:
Apply reinforcement and motivation strategies to increase staff consistency in prompting, modeling, and supporting AAC device use throughout the school day.
Participants Will:
Use simple data collection methods, including momentary time sampling, to monitor AAC implementation and guide team-based intervention efforts.
About The Webinar
Students cannot communicate with AAC systems that are not available, charged, modeled, or actively incorporated throughout the school day. This professional development session focuses on practical reinforcement systems and staff engagement strategies that increase consistent AAC access and usage across educational environments. Participants will explore how behavior principles, positive reinforcement, data collection, and team-based accountability systems can improve staff implementation of AAC supports. Real-world examples, including March Madness-style implementation brackets and “December Data Challenge” interventions using momentary time sampling, will be shared to demonstrate how schools can build buy-in while increasing student opportunities for communication. Attendees will leave with actionable tools to strengthen AAC implementation fidelity, improve staff participation, and create communication-rich learning environments for students with complex communication needs.

Meet the Instructor
Angela Williams, M.Ed., M.A., BCBA
Angela Williams, M.Ed., M.A., BCBA, is a special education administrator and Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with more than 19 years of experience serving students with complex support needs in therapeutic day schools and private placement settings. Throughout her career as a special education teacher, instructional coach, school leader, and administrator, she has worked extensively alongside multidisciplinary teams to increase meaningful communication opportunities for students who use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).
Angela's work focuses on applying behavior analytic principles to improve staff performance and implementation fidelity, recognizing that consistent staff behavior is essential to improving student outcomes. She is passionate about developing practical reinforcement systems that increase staff engagement, strengthen AAC implementation across school environments, and create sustainable communication-rich classrooms where both students and professionals can thrive.
